OLDE WORLD CHARM

A HOME DECORATED WITH "OLD WORLD" CHARM, IS A HOME THAT HAS THE LOOK OF BEING LIVED IN AND COMFORTABLE AND GIVES THE IDEA OF A BYGONE ERA.
SOME IDEAS FOR DECORATING IN "OLD WORLD":
*DARK FURNITURE WITH CARVED DETAILS.
* HAND PAINTED POTTERY AND HAND PAINTED LADDER BACK CHAIRS.
TAPESTRY STYLE WALLPAPER.
* PAINTED WOODWORK.
*VASES OF WILDFLOWERS.
* BASKETS STACKED AND DISPLAYED WITH OVERFLOWING GOODIES.
* BIG CHUNKY CANDLES GROUPED TOGETHER ON A TABLE.
* FRETWORK.
* GRANITE OR MARBLE ON COUNTERTOPS, TABLES OR DRESSERS.
* TAPESTRY PILLOWS THROWN ABOUT AND LARGE ONES FOR THE FLOOR.
* GOLD LEAFED PICTURE FRAMES.
* AN ORNATELY PAINTED CEILING WITH CLOUDS AND GOLD LEAF TRIM.
*OLD BOOKS STACKED OR LEANED ON A TABLE OR BOOKCASE. IF YOU DON'T HAVE OLD BOOKS, TAKE OLD LOOKING DARK MATERIAL AND COVER THE BOOKS;(LIKE YOU DID IN GRADE SCHOOL)!
* RICH COLORS AND VELVETS: TERRA COTTA, BROWNS AND BURGUNDY'S AND ROUGHLY TEXTURED FABRICS.
* A LARGE FIREPLACE, REAL OR FAUX SETS THE MOOD FOR AN "OLD WORLD" LOOK.
* TARNISHED SILVER PIECES GROUPED TOGETHER ON A MANTEL OR SHELF.
YOU CAN ALSO MIX OTHER STYLES FROM OTHER ERAS TO MAKE IT LOOK "OLD WORLD" , JUST THINK DARK AND SOPHISTICATED. IF YOU'RE AFRAID OF TO TRY THIS STYLE, DON'T BE; YOU MAY FIND OUT THAT THE UNEXPECTED WORKS EVEN WHEN YOU CAN'T BELIEVE IT WILL.
IF YOU WANT TO LAUNCH YOUR OWN STYLE, JUST THROW TOGETHER WHAT YOU HAVE AND YOU'LL BE AMAZED AT THE OUTCOME. JUST THINK RICH DARK COLORS.
