OBJECT D'ART

TOMORROW I'M HEADING TO UPSTATE NEW YORK FOR A BUYING TRIP HOPING TO FIND SOME "NATURAL PATINA" :) OTHERWISE AS YOU KNOW, I'LL PAINT IT WHITE, SO HERE IS AN ARTICLE I WROTE ABOUT FINDING THAT FAVORITE PATINA.

NATURAL PATINA IS A GREAT LOOK TO GO WITH IF IT HAS THAT TIMEWORN LOOK; IF NOT I PAINT IT WHITE & BEAT IT UP & CALL IT MY OWN PATINA.NATURAL IS NOT ONLY PAINT BUT NATURE ITSELF:

FERN FRONDS IN A MERCURY GLASS VASE

MOSS IN AN OLD URN

A WEATHERED DINING TABLE WITH THE LEGS CUT DOWN

NATURAL TABLE COVERS SUCH AS LINEN OR BURLAP GIVES AN EARTHY LOOK TO A WELL PATINATED TABLE

OLD PORCH POSTS FOR FERN STANDS OR JUST AS AN OBJECT D’ART

VINTAGE APOTHECARY JARS OR JARS/BOTTLES WITH CHARACTER….ADD SHELLS, OLD BUTTONS,DICE, BEACH GLASS,CANDY, ACORNS, NUTS, JEWELRY PIECES….ANYTHING THAT STARTS A CONVERSATION & REMINDS YOU OF SPECIAL EVENTS.

LENGTHS OF VINTAGE ARCHTECTURE WITH NATURAL PAINT OR PATINA MAKES A GREAT SHELF FOR THE KITCHEN OR ABOVE DOORS & WINDOWS

FOR A BEACHY/ COTTAGE LOOK A MANTEL FOR A HEADBOARD
OTHER THAN ORIGINAL PATINA & WHITE PAINT, THE SOFT COLOR OF GRAY GIVES YOU THE FEELING OF A SUBTLE WASH ON OBJECTS; A CLEAN, FRESH LOOK

THERE’S NOTHING BETTER THAN HAVING YOUR OWN GETAWAY IN THE YARD. YOU CAN TAKE A STOCK BUILDING & “PIMP” IT OUT OR START FROM SCRATCH & CREATE
A CUSTOM LOOK. I HAVE BUILT MANY BUILDINGS & MY STUDIO, WHICH I USE FOR WRITING & SEWING IS NO ONE’S BUT MINE WITH SAVED UP ARHITECTURAL ELEMENTS & WINDOWS, IT LOOKS ONE OF A KIND & WAS SO EASY TO BUILD.

AN OLD FARM TABLE THAT YOU DON’T MIND GETTING RUINED IN TIME CAN BE KEPT OUTSIDE UNDER A TREE & HANG A CHANDELIER FROM THE TREE, FOR INSTANT PANACHE & A QUICK SPOT TO ENTERTAIN. I HAVE A FRENCH WINE TASTING TABLE UNDER ONE OF MY ARBORS, I KNOW SHAME ON ME, BUT IT'S TOO BIG FOR ANYWHERE ELSE & I’M NOT READY TO SELL IT.
