BEFORE AND AFTER OF MY TUSCAN FRENCH KITCHEN OR THE TOSCANA FRANCAIS CUCINA

BEFORE

BREAK TIME, FINGER LICKIN' GOOD!!

AFTER

THESE ARE PEWTER TWIG PULLS, I'VE HAD THEM FOR AWHILE & DIDN'T WANT TO SWITCH THEM OUT, BECAUSE I JUST LOVE THEM :)

I TOOK 2 LARGE PASTRY BOARDS & PAINTED THEM FOR THE COUNTER TOPS. SINCE I DON'T HAVE MUCH OF A COUNTERTOP IT TOOK ONLY 2 LARGE ONES & I PAINTED THEM CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE ON ONE SIDE & WHITEWASH ON THE OTHER.

THIS IS WHEN I WAS GOING TO KNOCK OUT THE WALL BETWEEN THE DINING ROOM & KITCHEN, I STARTED.... FOUND A PARTIAL BRICK WALL & STOPPED FOR NOW & DECIDED TO TAKE OUT PART OF THE WALL & MAKE A HIDDEN SPICE THING. I DID HAVE A FRENCH MIRROR OVER IT & THEN I WAS DOWN THE BASEMENT LOOKING FOR SOMETHING ELSE & I PICKED UP AN OLD FRAME & AN OLD PIECE OF TIN CEILING (THIS ONE IS COPPER), WHEN I SET THEM DOWN, THE FRAME OVER THE CEILING IT LOOKED PERFECT, SO I CUT THE TIN TO FIT & VOILA, GREAT SURPRISE :)

I ALSO REFACED THE CUPBOARD DOORS WITH BEADBOARD LIKE THE FRIDGE SOMETIME AGO. PROBABLY THE NEXT TIME I REDO THE KITCHEN, IT'S A TOTAL GUT OUT & THE WALL WILL BE GONE LOL

THE FLOORING IS CHERRY VINYL PLANKS THAT ARE NOT THE TRADITIONAL STICKY ONES, THIS IS A FLOATING FLOOR & ONLY HAS STICKY TABS & TOTALLY WATERPROOF. I'LL GET BACK TO YOU ON THAT ONE :)

THESE COOL PORCELAIN SIGNS ARE SAMPLES THAT THE COMPANY WASN'T GOING TO MAKE; I HAVE A CONNECTION THAT I CAN GET ONE OF A KIND PIECES THAT WILL NOT BE IN PRODUCTION. I HAVE MORE SIGNS TO PUT THERE; I'M EXPECTING ONE FROM FRANCE AS WE SPEAK.......CAN'T WAIT TO GET IT

OLD GATE HANDLE

OLD GATE HANDLE

I THOUGHT I'D NEVER GET THIS STARTED OR FINISHED, BUT I DID. THIS IS THE PAINT COLOR (CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE) THAT I PAINTED MY SONS ROOM & I REALLY LIKED IT, SO WHEN I WAS GOING TO PAINT THE KITCHEN APPLE GREEN, I CHANGED MY MIND & PAINTED IT THIS COLOR INSTEAD,I CAN ALWAYS CHANGE IT, LATER :)
I PUT BEADBOARD ON THE FRONT & ONE SIDE OF HE FRIDGE TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A CUPBOARD, TOO OFF THE ORIGINAL HANDLES & REPLACED THEM WITH GATE HANDLES.I DID THE FRIDGE SOME TIME AGO BUT DECIDED TO PAINT IT TO MATCH. IT'S A VERY EASY PROCESS &I WOULD LIKE TO DO THE STOVE BUT AM NOT SURE YET; I HAVE TO INVESTIGATE :)

OMG!! OMG!! I have to send your link to my friend. We are beadboard junkies!!! Your fridge!!! OMG!!! It is fabulous! How in the hell did you get it to stay on?

I'm so glad you stopped by my blog. I will be visiting yours regularly.

BTW, I spent the last 3 days taking down the stuff on top of my cabinets, cleaning them, breaking some and putting them back. I hope you have a housekeeper!

The transformation is incredible! Isn't it fun to look around the house/attic/garage and find cool things to re-purpose and use.
